Alpine Ski Club's ski racing programs inspire athletes to pursue excellence through challenging training, competitive experiences, and a team culture built on commitment, resilience, and a passion for skiing.

For decades, Alpine Ski Club has been recognized as one of Ontario’s premier racing communities. Our ski racing programs continue that tradition by fostering a culture where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves, support their teammates, and pursue their personal best.

Please note, the complete Programs Guide will be available in September.

U16 OCup is a province-wide racing program that traditionally consists of three slalom and three giant slalom events, as well as super-G. Athletes can also qualify for the Provincial Finals and Eastern Canadian Championships. Those that do not qualify for Provincials can participate in the SOD Finals during March Break.

In conjunction with our U16 OCup Program, Alpine offers U18 athletes the opportunity to compete at local FIS race events. Athletes that choose this program will train with our U16 OCup team and compete at OCup events as well as local FIS races.

Our goal is to provide a high-quality program for U18 athletes to bridge the pathway between U16 OCup and full-time FIS racing.

This program is ideal for U18 athletes that want to continue to race at an OCup level and/or want to establish a FIS point ranking without travelling outside our region for races. We understand that at this age athletes have many academic and family commitments; coaches will work with athletes’ availability.

The U18 Nik Zoricic FIS Team is designed for racers across the Escarpment who require a program to bridge the gap between U16 OCup and the Ontario Ski Team. The programs administration and home base will be Craigleith Ski Club, although Alpine athletes will continue to represent Alpine while racing for the U18 Nik Zoricic FIS Team Program. All escarpment clubs have an impact on the team decision-making process and provide hill space throughout the season for the team’s weekly training. The team mandate is to provide a comprehensive competitive training and racing program for athletes in the U18 FIS age category.

While the team’s primary goal is to see athletes progress to the Ontario Ski Team and beyond, it provides an environment where athletes can flourish and pursue the sport of alpine ski racing as far as they want. The team is also mindful that this is a busy time in the lives of athletes aged 16 and 17 with school and social pressures. Given this crucial time, this team provides a flexible and adaptable program that allows athletes to meet multiple challenges.

Alpine Alumni | Athlete Success Stories

Alpine has a deep history of developing alpine ski racers, and the Club recently had the privilege of welcoming back former member and two-time Olympian, Roni Remme, to spend a few days on the slopes with Alpine’s young racers.

Roni spent time offering Alpine’s developing athletes insights on her own journey moving through the NorAm, World Cup, and Olympic circuits over the years.
