No two ski seasons are exactly alike, but winter is at the heart of everything we do. It’s where children discover a passion for skiing, families spend weekends together, and lifelong traditions are created.
Protecting those experiences means looking beyond the slopes. As the effects of climate change become more apparent, Alpine believes it’s important to continue doing our part through our own sustainability initiatives and by supporting organizations working to protect the future of winter.
That’s why Alpine Ski Club is proud to join the Protect Our Winters (POW) Canada Resort Alliance, becoming the first private ski club on the Escarpment to make this commitment.

What is POW Canada?
Protect Our Winters is a national non-profit organization that brings together professional athletes, climate scientists, outdoor brands, ski resorts, businesses, and outdoor enthusiasts who share a passion for protecting the places they love.
Through education, advocacy, and community action, POW works to advance practical climate solutions that help protect Canada’s winters and outdoor spaces. Their current focus includes advancing clean energy, supporting communities facing increasing wildfire risk, and ensuring the voices of the outdoor recreation community are represented in conversations that shape Canada’s future.
Why did Alpine Join the POW Canada Resort Alliance?
Joining the POW Canada Resort Alliance is a natural extension of Alpine’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Over the past several years, we’ve continued to invest in initiatives that reduce our environmental impact and improve the efficiency of our operations.
By joining the alliance, Alpine is standing alongside ski resorts and outdoor organizations across Canada that recognize protecting winter requires both local action and broader advocacy. Together, we’re helping support practical solutions that will help protect the future of winter and the communities that depend on it, helping ensure future generations can continue to enjoy the sports and experiences that bring us together.
How You Can Get Involved
It takes a collective effort to protect the places, communities, and seasons we all depend on. There is power in numbers.
One of the easiest ways to support Protect Our Winters Canada is to become a member. Joining is free, takes less than a minute, and only requires your email address. POW Canada is working toward a goal of 100,000 members, because every new supporter strengthens its collective voice when advocating for policies that protect Canada’s winters, outdoor spaces, and the communities connected to them.
If winter has given you unforgettable memories, we encourage you to join us by making the pledge. Together, we can help protect the winters that have brought generations of Alpine families together and ensure they’re here for generations to come.
