Adult Interclub

Alpine had a full team and great expectations to win the Ridge Cup after our decisive Hetherington Cup season victory. The results of the top two teams were the closest in over a decade with only 6 points separating 1st and 2nd place.  Team Alpine came in second with 427 points, which is the most points scored by Alpine in a single race in over a decade! It was very, very close and could have gone either way – a great effort by all. Full race results can be found at interclubski.org.

A few highlights of the day include:

  • Alpine’s fastest female was Laura Coward,
  • Alpine’s fastest male was Mike McTaggart who had the 5th fastest time of the day,
  • Alpine men placed 6 racers in the top 20 fastest times of the day – Mike McTaggart, Ben Williamson, Jeff Cox, Will Stewart, Graham Ramshaw and Tom Daly placing 5th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 20th respectively,
  • Alpine women placed 2 racers in the top 5 fastest females – Laura Coward and Alex Thayer placing 4th and 6th respectively,
  • The top three point getters for the guys were Jeff Parr with 29 points, Brian Daub with 28 and Karol Slabon with 27 points. Great job guys!
  •  Alex Thayer, Sheri Ramshaw, and Laura Libby again tied for top ladies point getters with 23 points each. Well done ladies!
  • A big shout out of appreciation to our three Chicopee racers; Karol Slabon, Brian Daub and Mike Wolf who consistently earned big points in their categories all season to help us do so well.

The highlight of the day was during the Après where the Alpine Team was presented with the Hetherington Cup. Congratulations to all who participated. Everyone gave it their all and should be proud of what we accomplished this season.

A big shout out to Tony Petrella, a captain of our Adult Interclub Team for his dedication and leadership this season. Thanks for these great race re-caps all season, Tony!
