Friday Training – Ladies’ Day

This Friday is Ladies’ Day at Alpine and the Ladies’ Day committee has generously allowed us to continue training. All racing teams will be training at Alpine and we ask you to please abide by the following:  

• Meeting location will be at 9:15am at the Bridge to the North instead of the usual spot.  
• All participants must be pre-registered to participate (except U12 All Inc. as it is part of your program). 
• Registration has closed as of 12:00pm Wednesday Feb. 26 to allow us to collect and communicate numbers for lunches/coaching.  
• Lunch: pizza lunch will be provided in the North Warming Hut! So no need to pack lunch for the athletes. 
• There will be no access to the clubhouse or any skiing allowed on the south side of Alpine.

Discipline: SL Training   
9:15 meet coaches at the bridge to the North 
9:15 to 11:30 morning training session 
11:20 to 12:00 U8/U10 pizza lunch provided in the North Warming Hut
12:00 to 12:40 U12-U14 pizza lunch provided in the North Warming Hut
12:40-1:20 Snowboard pizza lunch provided in the North Warming Hut
End of lunch to 3:15 – afternoon training
3:15 athlete pick up at the bridge 

Junior & Adult Ski Club Championships

Registration: 
U8-U19 and Fun & Glory racers are automatically registered! 
Those not in a ski racing program can sign-up in the programs office by February 27 for March 1 races.

Bib Pick-up: 
Program racers: Bibs will be distributed by coaches for program racers. * Please hold onto bib for the weekend return after Ski Cross if participating Sunday.  
Fun & Glory: Use current bibs, the start list will reflect based on age category 
Non-Program racers: Pick up in the Programs Office between 8:30-9:15am 

Saturday, March 1:

Jr. Club Championships:   

U6 On Lower Alpine @ 10:30  
U8/U10 on Kent GS @ 9:30 am, SL @ 12:30 pm  
U12-U19 on Challenge GS @ 10:00 am, SL @ 1:00 pm   

*Re-runs in the case of a DNF or DSQ will take place at the end of the race after all racers have gone.  

Night Dual: 

Juniors will qualify for the Night Dual based on Club Championship SL run results from the day.  
New* This year the top 16 from each category (U8-U18) and gender will qualify! 
All heats will be single elimination. Finals will be double elimination.  

U8 / U10 / U12 / U14 / U16 / U19 Coaches will notify athletes of participation by end of day.

Inspection Time 4:30pm 
Race Start Time 5pm 

U12/U14/U16/U19
Inspection Time 6pm 
Race Start Time 6:15pm 

There is no Open category, as this event was held on February 22.

Awards for all Saturday events will take place on Sunday, March 2 at 2:00pm in the Athletes’ Room.

Sunday, March 2:

For U8-U19 racing athletes only. All athletes must be represented by an Alpine coach. 

Inspection: 9:15 am – 9:45 am 
Qualifiers: 10:00 am (one run) 
Finals: 1:30 pm 

Awards for both day’s events: March 2 at 2:00pm in the Athletes’ Room.

Adult Club Championships:

Adults on Challenge GS @ 10:00am, SL @ 1:00pm  
Use current bibs, the start list will reflect based on age category.
All those who signed up and are not registered in Fun & Glory can pick up their bibs Sunday from 8:30-9:30 in the Programs Office.

Adult Awards will take place in Fireside Lounge at 3:00pm.

CSIA Ski Instructors Courses

Do you, or a family member, aspire to become a certified Ski Instructor?  Alpine is pleased to be hosting a variety of Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance certification courses over the March Break.  Why not share your passion for skiing with others at the Club we love?!

51/49 Split Tickets

51% of the proceeds go towards our programs fundraising efforts, with the remaining balance going to the lucky winner of the draw!

The current total pot is at $4,990!

Tickets are available until the draw takes place on March 2 at 3:00pm in the Georgian Room.

Basket Raffle

The annual Basket Raffle fundraiser will take place on March 1-2 weekend in the Georgian Room. Tickets will be available on March 1 from 9:00-4:00 and March 2 from 9:00-2:00. Our competitive ski and snowboard teams have put together some amazing baskets of goodies.
Winners will be announced at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 2. The big winner of the 51/49 Split will be announced at 3:00pm as well.

For those putting together team baskets for the Basket Raffle, we ask you to please drop off your completed basket by 9:00am Saturday in the Programs Office. Please have the team name/age group attached to identify.

Rescheduled Fun & Glory Race at Club Championships

With the significant snowfall and our priority on safety, Alpine had made the decision to cancel last weekend’s Fun & Glory race and will now be combined with the Club Championships on Sunday, March 2, at 10:00am on Challenge. 

Race Format: 

• There will be a ski & snowboard course set up for the event. 
• Run 1: Your time will count towards both Club Championships (ski only) and Fun & Glory. 
• Run 2: Your time will count towards Fun & Glory only. 

All Fun & Glory participants will automatically be registered for Club Championships this year so there will be no extra registration on your end.  

Masters Interclub

Congratulations to our Alpine Masters Team for an incredible season!

Winning 3 of the 4 regular season races and the Hethrington Cup – again! Though they were just 2 points shy of winning the Finals Ridge Cup race, the entire team should be very proud.
