Sun Peaks Camp Update

On Dec. 10th, after a great flight and bus ride, over 55 of our Alpine Ski Club racers and 13 coaches arrived safely to Sun Peaks Resort B.C. Everyone received their bags that were sent out early and settled into our accommodations.

Yesterday, we started the U14 and U16 OCUP camps with lots of happy ski racers enjoying great snow conditions and loads of open terrain to explore. Everyone is getting some early season mileage, working on fundamentals, fine tuning their skill sets and rebuilding confidence in preparation for some gate training in the coming days.

On Dec. 13th, our number will increase to 85 athletes as we start our U12 All Inclusive Program and U10 younger siblings camps.

Tremblant Camp Update

On Dec. 15, we will have 31 of our racers join the Mt. Tremblant Camp for 5 days on snow. This is made up of 15 U10 racers, 6 U12 SOD racers and 9 U12 All Inclusive racers.

Record Numbers for Pre-Season Camps!

This fall, we will have 116 Alpine Ski Club racers participating in pre-season camps at either Sun Peaks or Mt. Tremblant. This makes up more than a third of our total race program participants.

Well done, Alpine! This is just the start of being “All In” this season.

We expect that everyone participating in a pre-season camp will find them enjoyable and beneficial. These camps will provide all participants with a great foundation for success this season.

Preparing for Your First Day on Snow

Welcome to the racing season at Alpine Ski Club! As we gear up for fantastic year of racing, please take a moment to review these tips to ensure your first day on snow is a smooth and enjoyable experience.

1. Gear Check

  • Skis & Poles: Inspect for any damage and ensure bindings are functioning correctly set to current weight + ability. Are your ski’s tuned if not consider a professional tune-up at your local ski shop.
  • Boots: Test your boots for a snug fit and check buckles and straps. Spend some time walking around the home in your boots to prepare your feet.
  • Helmet & Goggles: Verify a secure fit for safety and visibility. Clean your goggle lenses.

2. Layer Up Wisely

  • Dress in moisture-wicking base layers, an insulating mid-layer, and a waterproof shell.
  • Don’t forget warm gloves, a neck gaiter, and ski socks.

4. Hydration & Snacks

  • Fuel your body + stay hydrated all day.

5. Know the Schedule

  • Check the Club’s calendar and hillspace for training or race times. Arrive early to allow for parking, check-ins, and gear setup.

Let’s make this season unforgettable. See you on the slopes!
