Going For Gold in 2010

A New Start-Fundraising 2010

As the Olympics approach it is great time to celebrate the success of our past “Going for Gold” fundraising efforts. We met more goals than we ever expected .

We are celebrating the success of one of our own in Palmer Taylor who will be competing at the Olympics in the Women’s Half Pipe events. Palmer has been a three time recipient of the Alpine Scholarship and we are all thrilled that we have been a part of her journey to fulfilling her Olympic dreams.

This support would not have been possible without the generosity of our members who have given so much to our fundraising efforts over the years.

2010 marks a new beginning for our fundraising goals. This year our theme is “A New Start”. Literally! We need to raise money to re-build the top start hut on Challenge. We have re-done all our finish huts as well as the mid start on Challenge and the Top Hut is now- top of the list!
How can you help? We need donations for our silent and live auctions which are being held on March 6th and 7th. Big or small we need them all!
All members were mailed a donation form a couple of weeks ago and items have been slowly coming in for the fundraiser.

We have a Heli Skiing trip, a golf membership from the Georgian Bay Club, Molson beer fridge, Atomic skis and bindings, clothing and hand made artwork just to name a few!

In addition to this Debbi Izzard and her crew have stepped up to the plate once again to spearhead the Basket Raffle, taking place in conjunction with the Silent Auction on March 6th and the baskets will be drawn for prior to the Live Auction on Sunday March 7th at the Adult Club Championship Awards Après Ski.
