The Terrain Park Safety Program
Alpine has an outstanding Terrain Park that has been home of the Ontario Snowboarding Association (OSA) Championships for the past two years.
New for 2010 is the development of a new novice Terrain Park at the top of Arrowhead.
Both parks are to be enjoyed by all, but to ensure the safety of yourself and others Apine requires that all Park users successfuly complete our Terrain Park Safety Program. The program will help build your awareness of the risks and skills recommended to enter the parks.
Terrain Park Safety
MAKE A PLAN. Every time you use Freestyle Terrain, make a plan for each feature you have the plan to use. Your speed, approach and takeoff will directly affect your maneuver and landing.
LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. You are responsible for inspecting Freestyle Terrain & hits before initial use and throughout the day. The features vary in size and change constantly due to snow conditions, weather, usage, grooming and time of day. Do not jump blindly. Use a spotter when necessary.
EASY STYLE IT. Always ride or ski in control and within your ability level. Do not attempt Freestyle Terrain unless you have sufficient ability and experience to do so safely. You control the degree of difficulty you will encounter in using Freestyle Terrain, both on the ground and in the air.
RESPECT GETS RESPECT. Respect Freestyle Terrain and others. Only one person on a feature at a time. Wait your turn and call your start. Always clear the landing area quickly. Respect all signs and do not enter Freestyle Terrain or use features when closed.
BE IN THE KNOW. We strongly recommend everyone watch the Smart StyleTerrain Park Video before completeing the compulsary Terrain access quiz. The video along with a clear undrestanding of the importance of following and obeying all instructions, warnings and signs will help ensure a safe and fun environment in the Parks for all. Once you have successfully completed the Terrain Park quiz you will be given a personalized TP Sticker to wear on your member badge or lift ticket.
